Annalise's First Fishin' Adventure

Mark and the girls have been wanting to go fishing.
It was a beautiful night and we decided to head over to Lake Terrell to throw a couple of lines in the water.  It was Annalise's FIRST time fishing!!!  She was SUPER excited!!!

Avery is an old pro at this fishing thing!!

Avery ended up catching a big wad of someone else's line.
Mark gathered it up and took it to the garbage.
Annalise wondered where he was going...I told her just to the garbage at the end of the dock.
She wanted to go with him and started running on the dock.
After several reminders to WALK....she bit it.

No fish caught and scraped up knees.
Wonder when she'll want to try fishing again???

Seattle Mariners Game

We've never taken the girls to a Mariners game.
Our friend offered us some "CLUB" tickets and we thought it would be the perfect opportunity!!!
It was SWEET!!!!  Parking was included in the garage and then we could just walk across the sky bridge into the "CLUB".  Avery LOVES Seattle.  Well, any big city really!  She loves the buildings and the freeway and the over and under passes.  So when she saw Safeco Field she was giddy!

We arrived early enough so that we could have dinner at the field before the game started...

Annalise was hungry....that's never a good thing!!

We were all good after eating and still had time to walk all the way around the field.
SO much to look at!!  What a cool place!!!

Annalise chose cotton candy as her treat.
She had never had it before....

She took a chunk and put it in her mouth.
"What is it supposed to do Mom?"
"It just kind of melts in your mouth Annalise".
"Ewwww.  Don't like it."

It was a great night for a game.
Not too hot and not too cold!

Time for the first pitch.

Not sure who these people were...some rapper and his DJ?!

Mariners vs. Angels

The Mariners weren't doing so well.
It was a perfect time for a little distraction!
Think the streaker was the highlight of the game.

The girls couldn't believe what was happening....what's that guy doing?
Why are they chasing him?
Mark and I were cracking up!

And as they are escorting him off the field in handcuffs...."Where are they taking him?"
"To jail honey....you're not really supposed to do that.  He's in a lot of trouble."

Great first Mariners game for the girls. Thanks for the tickets Pappy!

Locks of Love

Avery has been growing out her hair for a loooooonnnnnnggggggg time.
All in anticipation of having the needed 10 inches to donate to the organization Locks of Love.
They make wigs out of donated hair for children who are suffering from medical hair loss.

She knew she was close and wanted to get it cut before school started this year.
We made the appointment and Rhonda did the cutting.....

Avery was a little surprised at how short it turned out, but was VERY proud!
And she should be proud!!  This was ALL her idea.....
Love this kid!!!!

Way to go Avery!!!

WWU Mini-Reunion

We've been wanting to do this forever and it finally worked out for us this summer!
Betsy, Marni and I met our freshman year at WWU. We lived on the first floor of Nash Hall.  Lots of good memories at 'ol Nash Hall.  We moved on after our freshman year and continued to live together in various places the following years.  We've stayed in touch and always look forward to getting together and catching up!!!  The last time we did it was in 2006.....

We've all changed and families have grown since then!!! :)
Here's the picture 6 years later.....

We all headed up to campus to see how much it's changed.

It was a beautiful day for a quick tour of the campus.

After a picnic lunch at Boulevard Park, Betsy and her crew had to head back to Friday Harbor.
Marni and Kevin were going to spend another night before heading back to Bend,
so we came back to Ferndale and hit the Street Fair.

There were henna tatoos....

And face painting....

After dinner, the kids dressed up in costumes and put on a show!!!

It was great catching up with some "old" friends!!!
