Our Little Mommy

Everyone keeps asking how Avery likes being a big sister. The answer is pretty much the same as it's been since Annalise was born....."she loves it...she's doing great...she's a great helper...etc." In fact, she's loving having a little sister so much, she plays MOMMY with everything and does whatever it is we're doing with Annalise to her babies and stuffed animals. As in these pictures....she REALLY wanted Mark to make her a baby Bjorn (carrier) for "Chilly". She's very tender to her babies and it's quite funny to hear her tone of voice change and the things she says to them. It's like we've been recorded and it's playing back!! :)

Lovin' Summer!

We've really lucked out with the weather so far this summer! It's been beautiful!
Today we met our friend Betsy and her kids Ayla and Bryce at the spray park. It was great to see them and play in the sun a bit!

Cousins

The three cousins got to spend some time together yesterday playing in the sun. Well...Bella and Avery got to play. Annalise was either sleeping or crying during play time! It's really fun having Bella and Avery just a year apart....they were so happy to spend time together!

Uncle Paul and Aunt Katrina got to meet their new niece....now Annalise has met all the aunts and uncles. Just have one more cousin and she'll have met the whole family. And she'll get to meet cousin Mallory next week in Spokane!

It was great to see Bella, Uncle Paul and Aunt Katrina even if it was just a quick trip! We'll get to spend some more time next week and then again for a weekend at the lake! Good times.

Another Camping Trip

This time we headed up towards Mt. Baker and camped at Silver Lake for a couple of nights. I don't think Annalise liked it there as much as at Deception Pass. There seemed to be more crying this time! Although, she slept like a champ at night! We're going on almost a week of at least 5 hour stretches of sleep at night. Hopefully things will become a little less "FUZZY" for us soon!

Avery had a great time camping, too. She loves to explore and hang out by the campfire. The s'mores are always the highlight. (I'd have to agree!) She also loves singing songs.....Mark and I have had to really DIG deep to remember our old Camp Reed campfire songs. She LOVES them!

Anyway....all's well with us.....as you can see we are FULLY enjoying and taking advantage of our summer!

Baby Henry

Today we all finally got to meet Henry James.
He was born 2 weeks ago and Annalise already looks like she could eat him. I guess Mark and I make BIG kids. (In fact....Annalise is tipping the scales at 11 lbs. 3 oz., which puts her in the 75th percentile for weight!)

Anyway....it's great to see our good friends Scotty and Irene as parents....it'll be fun watching the kids grow up together.

Annalise is 6 weeks old!

Wow....has it really been 6 weeks?! In a way it seems like forever....in another way....it seems like she was just born! She's done 2 nights sleeping about 51/2-6 hours. (Before we went camping!) So hopefully now that we're back home she'll get back into that habit! She's a pretty mellow baby unless something is wrong.....then she definitely has the lungs to let you know about it! She goes with the flow and is pretty content to just do whatever. Yay!!!

We Went Camping!

Well....we did it! We survived 2 nights camping! I guess it's more like "camping" the way we do it now with the 5th wheel! BUT....it was a lot of fun and nice to be OUT of the house. I think we'll be able to do it again. Annalise had some trouble at night, but hopefully that will pass! Fingers are crossed!

It was our first trip to Deception Pass to camp. It's a really cool state park with way more to do than we thought. There's a lake (Cranberry Lake), sand dune and of course the beach. We'll definitely go back again!

Avery was disappointed we only got to have one campfire. Just as we were starting the fire last night a CRAZY thunder and lightning storm started. I'm not a fan of the thunder and lightning but I must admit that it was kind of cool! We were able to watch (from our campsite) the storm blow in over the ocean and then over us. The lightning was striking in the ocean right in front of us. It was actually pretty amazing. Wish we would have taken some pictures.

So....we survived our first trip and now we're planning our next! You gotta love SUMMER!!!!

Auntie Robin and Uncle Geoff

Annalise finally got to meet her Auntie Robin and Uncle Geoff. Think she's pretty comfortable with them! They've got the magic touch!
