Happy Father's Day!!

Avery couldn't wait for Mark to wake up!!!
She had worked so hard on the "sports-themed" tie she made him.  So cute!!!

These girls adore their daddy.

The feeling is mutual!!!

They were excited to give him his new camping recliner, too!  I can imagine this will get much use this summer in all of our camping adventures!

And....nothing says "I LOVE YOU" like a little squirt gun fight! :)

Happy Father's Day Mark!!!   You are appreciated and loved.

Hands Across the Border

A few of the girls in Avery's Daisy Girl Scout Troop went the the Hands Across the Border event.

The event celebrates the peaceful border we share with Canada. Girl and Boy Scout troops from both the U.S. and Canada met at Peace Arch Park in Blaine to celebrate. The day started with the girls trading "SWAPS". Crafty little homemade trinkets. Avery thought this was cool!!! She told me, "I wasn't so sure at first, but once I started trading it was AWESOME!"

Then it ended with a parade through the Peace Arch. U.S. Scouts on one side, Canadians on the other....marching through the Arch together. There were about 12,000 people there in all.
WOW!!! Good times! :)

Quite the Reader!!

Our school did a reading challenge for the month of May.
Students were supposed to read a book, then come to school and take a comprehension test on the computer (a program called Reading Counts). The program tracks how many books/words you've read in a given period of time. Well....for the month of May, Avery was the top reader in her Kindergarten class!!! At the end of the year awards assembly she was recognized for this accomplishment and got her GOLD medal. (Her second for the year I must brag! :) )

She was also recognized for being one of the P.E. Students of the Month. Our P.E. teacher chooses 2 students out of the entire school each month to receive this award!!! Yaaaaayyyyyyy Avery!!!! :)

Can you tell we're just a little proud???? :)

Rockin' Out

And now that she's 2, Annalise thinks it's cool to "Rock Out"!
I wonder where she learned how to do that rocker face??????

Happy 2nd Birthday Annalise!

Oh wow!  Our baby is 2!  It's actually a little hard to believe!  Seems like she was just born!  Now she's running around, climbing on everything and telling us all what to do!
AND what she wants!  She's a girl who knows exactly what she wants! :)  Like this giant koosh ball.  We were at Walgreens for something else and she did NOT want to put the ball back.  In fact, she REALLY wanted her Daddy to carry it all around the store for her.  Needless to say....we did put it back, then I promptly returned without her so it could be one of her birthday gifts!  It was a hit!

Avery got her the BIG gift!  A Barbie Quad.  Annalise thought it was cool that she could have a "Doodle Bug" just like her Gramps!  (Only Gramps doesn't have a cool pink one! :) )  This should be interesting when we get her outside with it.  Guess we'd better be wearing our running shoes.  There won't be any furniture to stop her! :)

And listen to her giggle!!! Priceless!!!

Happy Birthday baby girl! :)

Happy 6th Birthday Avery!!

Happy Birthday to Avery!

She had a FABULOUS birthday! It was a school day so she was thrilled that she would be able to be at school on her birthday! It worked out that both Mark and I could even take her to lunch!

Her party (a luau) was on Saturday.

The weather was fantastic and the kids all had a great time playing pin the coconut on the palm tree, doing the limbo and running around screaming. Good times!

Avery feels well-celebrated!
