Duvall, a wedding and a drop off

It worked out so that we could go to our old and dear friend Julie's wedding!

We were going to be heading south to drop Avery off at Girl Scout Camp the day after, so we left the girls with Auntie Robin and Uncle Geoff and got "fancy" for the wedding. :)

The wedding was beautiful!  It was a gorgeous sunny evening on the water in Seattle.

Julie looked sooooo happy!  We were so excited we could be there.

Julie is just one of those people we hold deep in your heart.

We don't talk often or see each other ever....but we so love our "Doody".

She's been through so much.  It means so much to see her so happy.

We didn't feel bad leaving the girls....in fact....the four of them had a great time.

Before dropping Avery off at Camp River Ranch, Robin wanted us all to experience breakfast at the Salish Lodge.  Honestly...in all the years we've driven by, this was Mark's first stop at Snoqualmie Falls!!!!  The food was delicious. (And the coffee was AH-MAZING!)

And the falls were quite beautiful! (Even with less water running than normal.)

Then we were off to Camp River Ranch to leave Avery for the week. (Deep breath....deep breath.....)

Howard Miller Steelhead Park

We were anxious to get our first camping trip of the the summer in!

We didn't have plans, so we decided to go south to one of our favorite campgrounds.

We knew it would be tough to get a site over 4th of July weekend, so we headed out the day after and had the campground almost to ourselves for a few days!

It was awesome!

And it was HOT!!!

We took lots of walks, flew the kites and played lots of games.

We put the pool up for soaking!

We took a quick road trip up to Baker Lake and drove across the dam.

Soooooo pretty!!!!

One night we had the first annual Howard Miller Schneider Olympics...

It had hopscotch...

A dart throw....

And some random sprinting...

Not sure if there will be a "second annual"????

While we were there we had lots of great campfires....

And I had a few sad moments when I would think about all of the camping trips we had taken with Grams.  She would have loved sitting and playing Scrabble with us.

We were so glad we squeezed in our first camping trip of the season!

4th of July

It was our first time going to Kim and Pete's neighborhood for the 4th of July.

We are always invited, but we're not usually in town.

It was super cool.

A TOTAL old-fashioned neighborhood party!

Everyone gathers in the park.

Then the parade starts!

The kids all stage at one end of the park before they follow the Grand Marshal around a couple of blocks and then end back in the park.

The girls were excited!!!

They decided to walk, but there were LOTS of decorated bikes in the parade, too!

And one of Mark's teaching partners from school, Drew was the Grand Marshal! :)

After the parade there was more fun.

Face painting, a picnic lunch and old school games!

There was even a lady handing out cat's cradles!

Avery loves those things!  They learned how to make a broom!

After a fun afternoon at the park we walked back to Kim and Pete's house for some awesome 4th of July cupcakes that Camryn made!

It was such a fun way to celebrate the 4th of July!!
