It is called "Twilight" camp because it happens every day from 1-7 for a week.
This year's theme was "Mid Summer's Dream".
Avery was part of the "Fabulous Faries" unit.
Their t-shirts were even embellished with fairy wings.
The camp takes place at Hovander Homestead Park here in Ferndale.
After the first day of camp Avery let me know that Hovander is a different place to her now. "It's like a totally different place when I'm at camp." Magical.
The girls earned their first Brownie patch.....the Earth and Sky Try-It. They learned about clouds and geology. They sang camp songsat a place called the "singing tree"....
....cooked their own dinner one night....
....worked together to complete tasks....
....made some cool arts and crafts....
....had a crazy hair day....
....got dirty, suffered MANY mosquito bites and were COMPLETELY exhausted at the end of each day. Avery LOVED Girl Scout Camp!
Annalise even got to "tag-a-long" at camp for 2 days. When I was there volunteering, they had a "tag-a-long" unit that little brothers and sisters could do. Even Annalise learned some new songs, got dirty and had a blast!
What a fun week!
