A Trip to Bend, Oregon

It's been a LONG time since we've made it to Bend to see our friends Marni and Kevin.
So....we were able to work it out that we could leave Cape Disappointment and go to spend some time with them.  We met to camp for a weekend at a little lake on the Cascade Lakes Highway just past Mt. Bachelor.  Little Cultus Lake. It was GORGEOUS and the weather was perfect.  Two other families were camping with us and one brought their "Launch Pod" to anchor in the lake.  It was VERY fun!  The kids (and adults) had a great time playing on it.  Unfortunately, the ONLY pictures I took all weekend was of Kevin towing the launch pod over to the camp site with the canoe.  Annalise liked the first part of the canoe ride but then had a little meltdown when the water got a little choppy.

After a great couple of days at the lake, we went to Marni and Kevin's house in Bend.
It was so nice catching up with them and experiencing Bend in the summer!  What a cool place!
We spent a day at the pool (the girls' highlight of the trip included the waterslide there!) and another day at the High Desert Musuem.

There was sooooo much to see!

We made it just in time to see a show on a few of the desert animals.
Our unanimous favorite was the porcupine!

Luke and Carly were great tour guides!

After a long, hot morning we all needed a cool beverage.
So we decided to hit a top Bend ADULT site as well....The Deschutes Brewery.  Yum.

It was so nice hanging out with them again.  I love that we have those friends who you don't see for years yet it feels like no time has passed.  We can just pick up where we left off.
We really need to get together more often!

Thanks for having us!
